Youth Empowerment Grant

The Kiwanis club of golden ears youth empowerment grant

Goal of the Program

To empower youth (aged 12 - 24) in the community to take an active role in developing projects and programs that benefit their peers.

Areas of Interest

The Kiwanis Club of Golden Ears is committed to raising awareness of and contributing financial support to organizations that are engaged in key focus areas including arts and culture, heritage, environment, sports and recreation, for projects that directly support children and youth. Projects that are youth-led will be given higher priority.

Projects We Fund

  • Youth must be actively involved in the project’s development or implementation in a meaningful way. Be sure to identify the role of youth. It is not enough that an organization proposes to carry out an activity and then recruits youth to take part in it. Consulting with youth to develop a project of benefit to them is also not sufficient.
  • Projects must directly support residents of Ridge Meadows. However, organization do not have to be located in Ridge Meadows.
  • Individual applicants must be supported by a community organization or be supported with a letter of support.

Projects We Do Not Fund

  • Individuals or businesses
  • Fundraising activities
  • Endowment grants
  • Activities of religious organizations that serve primarily their membership and/or their direct religious purposes
